CENTRUM PHARMACY SATURDAY WALK-IN CLINIC
Centrum Pharmacy is now offering an in-person walk-in clinic on Saturdays only. When you are sick, you can see a doctor quickly at our walk-in clinic. We offer walk-in hours where physicians will see you without an appointment. If your injuries are major or you are experiencing severe symptoms like shortness of breath, loss of consciousness, chest pain, or profuse bleeding, please call 911 or present yourself at the nearest hospital emergency room. We will NOT be able to assist you at this clinic.
When to see the Pharmacist
Did you know you can see a pharmacist for some minor ailments? Save yourself the wait and checkout our minor ailment prescribing at Centrum Pharmacy.
For certain Minor Ailments and conditions such as cold sores, pink eye, UTI’s, you do not have to wait for the walk-in doctor. You can see any of our pharmacists at Centrum Pharmacy right away, six days a week for the following conditions: See list of Minor Ailments
When to come to the Walk-in Clinic
- For non-urgent situations
- When you do not have a family doctor
- If you have a family doctor at Orleans Family Health Clinic, but ONLY if on-call physician is not able to see you
- When you cannot get an appointment with your family doctor
- Prescription Renewals (we do NOT prescribe narcotics, benzodiazepines, controlled medications or sleeping pills)
- Seeking care for mild illnesses and injuries
- Emergency contraception and advice
- STI’s, PrEP , and DoxyPEP
- Stomach upsets
- Nausea, vomiting and flu
- Coughs, cold and fevers
- Ear, nose, throat, and eye problems
- Minor cuts that do not need stitches
- Sprains, strains, or sports injuries
- Minor asthma flare-ups
- Other ailments mild in nature
- Sick Notes (only for conditions diagnosed during your CURRENT visit by the Walk-In Doctor – NO retroactive sicknotes for prior conditions)
- The Walk-In Physician will NOT normally give Referrals to Specialists
- The Walk-In Physician will NOT fill out or sign any insurance, WSIB or other disability form of any kind
What to Bring
- Valid Health Insurance card (OHIP Health Card)
- List of current Medications (if applicable)
- Private insurance information
- Current address, email address, phone number, emergency contact number
When to go to an Emergency Department
The simplest answer to this is that if you feel like you are in an emergency situation, you should head to the ER to exercise the most extreme caution. Alternately, you can call 911 to describe your symptoms or situation and be advised on the best course of action.
*Call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Department when you need care for symptoms like:
- Persistent and severe chest pain
- Symptoms of a stroke, including difficulty speaking, confusion, sudden weakness in an arm, leg, or your face
- Major trauma (I.E. significant injury from a car accident, a fall, or other similar sudden incident)
- Head injuries
- Vomiting blood
- Drug overdose
- Severe burns
- Seizures
- Trouble breathing
- Bleeding that won’t stop
- Broken bones
- Partial or total amputation of a limb
- Traumas or injuries to the head
- Deep cuts or wounds
- Severe burns
- Severe pain
- Poisoning
- Loss of consciousness – unable to wake
- Sudden headaches, dizziness, weakness, numbness, trouble seeing or speaking
- Mental health issues (overdose, thoughts of suicide, self-harm or harm to others)
- Severely ill or injured children and infants

Important Information
This Walk-In Clinic is operated by Centrum Pharmacy. Please register at the pharmacy counter prior to checking-in to the clinic front desk.
- You do not need a referral to use our Walk-In Clinic
- Due to the high volume of patients or for operational reasons, registration may be closed earlier than stated hours and you may not be seen the same day
- We DO NOT offer EMERGENCY care, perform stitches, treat chest pain, narcotic prescription renewal, blood test/ blood test requisitions. If your injuries are major or you are experiencing severe symptoms like shortness of breath, loss of consciousness, chest pain, profuse bleeding, please go to the nearest hospital emergency room. We will NOT be able to assist you at this clinic
- If the Walk-In Clinic staff or Physician deem that they are not able to assist you with your condition, you will be directed to go to the emergency department where your condition can be thoroughly addressed
- The walk-in physician will NOT provide you with a retroactive Sick Note for any condition that has been ongoing or not initially diagnosed by the walk-in physician
- The physician will NOT fill out or sign any insurance, WSIB or other disability form of any kind
- Do not come to the Walk-in Clinic with the specific objective of receiving a referral to a Specialist. In these circumstances, you will be directed to go to the emergency department where your condition can be thoroughly investigated, and you can be properly followed by the appropriate specialists and health care providers
- We regret to inform you that we do not offer psychotherapy or mental health counseling services. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide adequate assistance within the time allocated for your appointment. Therefore, if you seek help for these reasons, you may be turned away. For immediate assistance, please call the following 24/7 crisis lines: the National Suicide Crisis Line at 988 or 1-866-996-0991, or the Ottawa Crisis Line at 613-238-3311. You may also contact the Distress Centre at dcottawa.on.ca.

Zero Abuse Policy
Zero Tolerance for Inappropriate Behavior:
Please be advised that abusive behavior, coarse language, violence, and threats towards any staff/MD at our clinic are not tolerated. You may be asked to leave and even banned from the clinic for any such behavior. The police will be called if we feel that your behavior poses a risk to our safety.
