When do I need to call an ambulance or go to the Emergency Department?
For Emergency symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, loss of vision or hearing, sudden weakness or numbness, profuse bleeding, and other emergency situations.
In a non-emergency, Your first call should always be to a Centrum Pharmacist.
The pharmacist can help you in many instances without you having to see a doctor. Here are some examples: Urinary Tract/Bladder Infections (UTI), Eye infections (Pink Eye), Hemorrhoids, and others Minor Ailments on this List. Your Centrum Pharmacist can also extend your chronic medications for you without having to ask your doctor first. If the pharmacist feels that it would be better for you to be seen by a physician, they can refer you to our Virtual or In-Person Walk-In Clinic.
When can I see a doctor virtually?
Virtual care is any interaction between a patient and medical provider that doesn’t involve direct, in-person contact. This includes video visits, phone calls and secure messaging through text or email.
You can see a doctor virtually for issues like common symptoms, chronic issues, follow-up appointments or mental health counselling. Here are some examples: sinus, throat and respiratory infections, sexual health, including screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, hormonal contraception, and renewal of certain medications.
When do I need to see a doctor in person?
You should see a doctor in person when a physical exam is needed to provide medical care. Here are some examples: Ear pain, Abdominal or digestive problems, Muscle or joint injury.
