Experienced Certified Pharmacy Technician Wanted
We are looking for an experienced individual in the retail pharmacy field to work as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at our community pharmacy in Orleans.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Greeting: Confirm the accuracy of all pertinent prescription information prior to filling.
- Data Entry: Input patient care information into Kroll.
- Third-Party Adjudication: Handle insurance claims and billing.
- Prescription Dispensing: Accurately dispense prescription medications.
- Full Scope of Practice: Utilize your full scope of practice in your workday:
- Receive a verbal order (except for controlled substances)
- Perform a technical check of a new prescription
- Perform a technical check of a refill prescription
- Perform a technical check of a controlled substance prescription
- Transfer prescriptions
- Provide instructions on how to operate medical devices
- Provide medication information to patients that does not require the application of therapeutic knowledge
- Conduct tests
- Administer parenteral and non-parenteral medication according to your training and scope of practice
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant; and experience with Kroll.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Kroll and Microsoft Office.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Motivation: Strong motivation to succeed.
- Registration: Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists is required.
- Certification: Injection Certification preferred.
- Vaccination: Proof of vaccination is required as a condition of employment.
Work Hours:
