Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Hourly Pay: $22.00–$28.00 (commensurate with experience)
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our dynamic community pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a pharmacy in Ontario and demonstrate proficiency with Kroll software. A strong focus on customer service and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify prescription details accurately
- Enter patient data into Kroll and manage third-party adjudication
- Accurately and efficiently dispense prescription medications
- Maintain and manage inventory using control systems
- Assist customers with OTC inquiries, referring to the pharmacist when appropriate
- Handle patient pickups and assist with cashier duties as needed
- Process new and refill prescriptions in compliance with SOPs
- Submit medication orders to suppliers
- Manage incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
- Process and manage faxed prescriptions per professional standards
- Scan and file documents securely and accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment
- Ensure confidentiality and uphold patient privacy at all times
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a community pharmacy in Ontario (required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience using Telus Kroll (required)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Experience with Microsoft Office and other pharmacy-related software
- Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service
Work Schedule
- Flexible weekday shifts (Monday to Saturday)
- No evenings past 6:00 PM
- Very limited Saturdays (only until 3:00 PM)
- Sundays and all statutory holidays off
- Position starts as regular part-time, with opportunity to move into full-time based on performance and availability

- Only applicants with direct pharmacy experience in Ontario will be considered

- Education: DCS / DEC (required)
- Language: English (required); French (preferred)
