Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

Hourly Pay: $22.00–$28.00 (commensurate with experience)

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our dynamic community pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a pharmacy in Ontario and demonstrate proficiency with Kroll software. A strong focus on customer service and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and verify prescription details accurately
  • Enter patient data into Kroll and manage third-party adjudication
  • Accurately and efficiently dispense prescription medications
  • Maintain and manage inventory using control systems
  • Assist customers with OTC inquiries, referring to the pharmacist when appropriate
  • Handle patient pickups and assist with cashier duties as needed
  • Process new and refill prescriptions in compliance with SOPs
  • Submit medication orders to suppliers
  • Manage incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
  • Process and manage faxed prescriptions per professional standards
  • Scan and file documents securely and accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment
  • Ensure confidentiality and uphold patient privacy at all times

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a community pharmacy in Ontario (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using Telus Kroll (required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and other pharmacy-related software
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service

Work Schedule

  • Flexible weekday shifts (Monday to Saturday)
  • No evenings past 6:00 PM
  • Very limited Saturdays (only until 3:00 PM)
  • Sundays and all statutory holidays off
  • Position starts as regular part-time, with opportunity to move into full-time based on performance and availability

  • Must currently reside in the Greater Ottawa Area
  • Only applicants with direct pharmacy experience in Ontario will be considered
  • Applicants must be truthful in responses to screening questions
  • Education: DCS / DEC (required)
  • Language: English (required); French (preferred)
